Often I see comments online relating a “blood moon” or some other type of supposedly-special moon, or an eclipse to the End Times. There is absolutely nothing to such claims. Eclipses and the various named versions of moons, such as a so-called “blue moon” — have no relationship to the End Times.

[Revelation]
{6:12} And when he had opened the sixth seal, I saw, and behold, a great earthquake occurred. And the sun became black, like a haircloth sack, and the entire moon became like blood.

[Acts]
{2:19} And I will bestow wonders in heaven above, and signs on earth below: blood and fire and the vapor of smoke.
{2:20} The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before the great and manifest day of the Lord arrives.

[Matthew]
{24:29} And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

The above description cannot be an event as common as an eclipse. There have been very many eclipses and other common astronomical events in the last 2000 years. What Scripture describes is an unusual event, very unusual.

When the above described event occurs, in the not so distant, but also not so soon future, the moon will be the color of blood (reddish) all the time, whenever it is visible in the sky, day and night. And the Sun will be dimmed, continuously. Probably, the correct interpretation is some type of nuclear winter or some type of high amount of particulate matter in the atmosphere, due to a natural disaster (comet strike perhaps).
