The first prediction is in the previous post. The prediction is that the winter will see a vast number of cases and deaths from Covid-19 in the U.S. forcing a severe shutdown. The same will happen in other nations with a winter and summer seasonal pattern: Europe, Eastern Europe, Canada, Russia, Japan etc. The number of cases will rise steeply and the number of deaths will rise even more steeply. A combination of more cases and greater severity will cause the proportionately larger jump in deaths.
The second prediction is that Pope Francis, at Assisi, will teach that non-Catholic Christians, non-Christian believers, and non-believers can be in a state of grace and can go to Heaven without converting to Catholicism, to Christianity or even to belief in God.
I think that Pope Francis will use Papal Infallibility to teach that doctrine. But if he does not, then in reaction to the ensuing outcry from conservatives, he will reply with a second document, one that asserts the teaching infallibly.
This will cause conservatives to claim that Pope Francis is not the valid Pope, and a massive exodus from the Church will ensue, including some Cardinals, more than a few Bishops, many priests, deacons, and religious and almost all the self-exalting self-appointed conservative or traditionalist “leaders” who have been harassing and accusing Pope Francis for several years now.
Then there will be a shutdown across many nations, that will result in a financial collapse for many parishes and dioceses. There will be a shortage of priests who remain faithful to the Pope. The Church will be in severe crisis. The claims of invalidity against Pope Francis will lead to claims that other Popes were invalid, and that Vatican II was invalid. The faithful will not know who to believe or what to believe. Many will fall away from Catholicism and Christianity altogether.
25 years ago a very conservative priest let us read the 12th chapter of the constitution of the Catholic church that clearly stated that salvation outside the church was possible. This included non-catholic Christians believers, non christian believers and non-believers. I do not understand your constant rant that the Pope is stating something new. I remember back in Catholic high school 65 years ago that this subject came up many times the the answer was always the same. Yes there are non-Catholics of all sort in heaven. Who started the idea that only Catholics go to heaven? No conservative Catholics I have ever met.
I have always believed that no person who is good and isn’t a Catholic/christian or believes in God isn’t saved, sure they will have to serve they,re time in purgatory like everybody else but I always thought God knows who is trying to be good and who is truly evil even if they cloak themselves in self righteousness, God wont be fooled by anyone.
If you think a new wave of corona is going to kill millions this winter, why do you think Pope Francis will survive it? He is of the exact wrong age and has preexisting respiratory issues.
Good point. But God protects the Pope with providence in a particularly intense manner. I don’t think the Pope is subject to the same type of risks that other fallen sinners are subject to.
Then there is the three Popes prophecy, that God will take three Shepherds away from the Church in one month. So that would be two retired Popes and one new Pope.
