When the Antichrist is rising to power over the whole world, he has the help of Satan.

[2 Thess]
{2:9} him whose advent is accompanied by the works of Satan, with every kind of power and signs and false miracles,

The advent of the Antichrist, his rise to power, has the help of Satan. The false miracles of the Antichrist are done partly by the help of devils, as well as by technology (this occurs hundreds of years in the future) and by deception. (Think of what a good stage magician can do in the present time. Now add futurist technology and praeternatural help. It will seem as if the Antichrist can do miracles, but it’s just tricks, tech, and devils.)

[Revelation]
{2:13} I know where you dwell, where the seat of Satan is, and that you hold to my name and have not denied my faith, even in those days when Antipas was my faithful witness, who was slain among you, where Satan dwells.

Antipas is the name given to the last Roman Pontiff before the Return of Christ. He is killed after the Antichrist, as king of the North, wins a war against the king of the South. Then no new Pope is elected during the nearly seven year reign of the Antichrist. Will the Antichrist be Pope? No. There is no Pope during the reign of the Antichrist. The world will hate Catholic Christianity, and will not permit the election of a new Pope after Antipas. His name means “he who faces the Father.” He is a faithful witness to Jesus Christ.

So the seat of Satan is Rome, for the Antichrist, wishing to destroy and replace the Christian Church, makes Rome to be the seat of his false religion. His followers kill the Pope and destroy Vatican City and the churches of the Vatican and Rome. “I know where you dwell,” Rome.

Why does Satan help the Antichrist obtain the worship of many persons in the world? What benefit derives to Satan if the world worships a human person? Satan doesn’t want the world worshipping Jesus, God made man; how is it better that the world worship the Antichrist?

Satan knows that the Antichrist, being a mortal human being, will eventually die. His plan is to help the Antichrist obtain the worship of the world. Then when the Antichrist dies, turn that false religion to the worship of Satan and his fellow devils. These are the new wicked kings, who rise up after the fall of the Antichrist.

[Revelation]
{17:12} And the ten horns that you saw are ten kings; these have not yet received a kingdom, but they shall receive authority, as if they were kings, for one hour, after the beast.
{17:13} These hold to one plan, and they shall hand over their power and authority to the beast.
{17:14} These shall fight against the Lamb, and the Lamb shall conquer them. For he is the Lord of lords and the King of kings. And those who are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.”

The kingdom of the ten kings becomes the kingdom of the Antichrist. After his fall from power, ten new kings rise up, worshipping devils, and trying to reconstitute the kingdom of the ten kings. They hand over their power to Satan (“the beast”). They fight openly against Christ, returned to earth, and His Saints. But the Lamb of God shall conquer them.

So that is why Satan and the devils help the Antichrist, because they assume he will die, or at least be sent to Hell alive, as Scripture says. Then they wish to be worshiped by the world. That is the plan of Satan all along, to obtain worship from humanity, in place of Christ. (That plan fails, because Christ is the Lord of lords and King of kings.)
