When Should Christians “Flee to the mountains”?

Jesus gives the advice to faithful Christians (“those who are in Judea” means the faithful) in three places in the Gospels to flee to the mountains:
[Mt]
{24:15} Therefore, when you will have seen the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place, may he who reads understand,
{24:16} then those who are in Judea, let them flee to the mountains.

[Mk]
{13:14} Then, when you have seen the abomination of desolation, standing where it ought not to be, let the reader understand: then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

[Lk]
{21:20} Then, when you will have seen Jerusalem encircled by an army, know then that its desolation has drawn near.
{21:21} Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, and those who are in its midst withdraw, and those who are in the countryside not enter into it.

When does this advise apply? Not until the very end of the End Times. It does not apply to this generation, nor to the first part of the tribulation (in this, the 21st century). It does not apply to the inter-tribulation period over the next few centuries. It does not even apply to the first part of the Antichrist’s reign in the early 25th century.

The event that triggers this advise is the establishment of a formal structure for the religion of the Antichrist, which includes the abomination of desolation (a perverse imitation of the holy Eucharist) and other false sacraments in the false religion of the Antichrist. This occurs during the last three and one half years of the Antichrist’s reign. That is also when an army surrounds Jerusalem, to prevent the faithful from entering the holy city.

When does that event occur? In the 2430’s — yes, the 25th century A.D.

So there is no cause to flee to the mountains during the present trials and tribulations.

The Sixth Seal

{6:12} And when he had opened the sixth seal, I saw, and behold, a great earthquake occurred. And the sun became black, like a haircloth sack, and the entire moon became like blood.
{6:13} And the stars from heaven fell upon the earth, just as when a fig tree, shaken by a great wind, drops its immature figs.
{6:14} And heaven receded, like a scroll being rolled up. And every mountain, and the islands, were moved from their places.
{6:15} And the kings of the earth, and the rulers, and the military leaders, and the wealthy, and the strong, and everyone, servant and free, hid themselves in caves and among the rocks of the mountains.
{6:16} And they said to the mountains and the rocks: “Fall over us and hide us from the face of the One sitting upon the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb.
{6:17} For the great day of their wrath has arrived. And who will be able to stand?”

The sixth seal is an all-out nuclear war, World War 4, between the Muslim extremists and the U.S. and Allies. Fleeing to the mountains in this case is not the advice of Jesus, but simply what many persons do in order to avoid nuclear fallout (depending on where they live).

The current tensions with Iran are of great importance to the End Times. Iran is attempting to make nuclear weapons, and may already have a few small working nuclear bombs. Once they announce this, the extremists in that region of the world will want to unite with Iran, and the united group of nations are the force that attacks Europe during World War 3 (the first seal and first horseman).

Preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons should have been the West’s number one goal in international relations. But at this point it is probably too late.

I cannot stress enough the importance of reliable radios especially in USA. There is the so called NOAA weather channel for emergency not just for weather, that is not existing in the EU! Keep at least one radio inside EMP-proof Faraday cage (you can buy Faraday bags) or just wrap it in Aluminum foil.

I do not share the expectation that the EU will be hit first by the Muslims. The EU actually accepts the Muslim immigrants with millions that creates new realities for both the EU and the Muslim world (many of those immigrants have families at home). And on geopolitical level the EU is the one that supports most the Arab/Muslim countries including Iran (besides Russia). When there is a coup in African Muslim country they call the French president not the American. France not USA sends special units after disputed elections. Besides, France is a nuclear power with some 400 nukes ready to deploy ‘at any direction not just against the USSR’, according to De Gaulle doctrine. Rather, the EU will be a leader in the humanitarian rescue during the Minor Chastisement. That’s why they accept all those immigrants from the third world – to give them a chance to save representatives of their populations. Just my view of course.
USA will be hit hard and only few will be saved physically- those who prepare now and who stop buying propaganda from any sides but stick to the sane reason and have warm hearts and open minds. I do not know the percent of prepared, you can see the average shopper in Walmart and build the picture for yourself. Paradoxically, those people walk everyday along those few tools in Walmart that can save them. But first is the mind and heart, and many the majority are light years away from that.

Ron, how will you comment the resignation of cardinal Sarah?
