Confession on the Last Day of 2016

The last day of 2016 falls on this Saturday. And Saturday is the day when parishes commonly offer Confession, usually just before the vigil Mass. It would be helpful to souls, pleasing to God, and I think fitting as a way to prepare for the new year, to go to Confession on the last day of 2016, so as to start to 2017 with a refreshed and renewed soul.

Never underestimate the power of making a good Confession. God’s favor is often obtained in this way, along with many graces.

Make a thorough examination of conscience and admit your sins before God in the confessional, with true sorrow for sin out of love for God and neighbor. And then do penances every day. May God have mercy on us all.

  1. Tom Mazanec says:

If I fall into sin, I confess at the next opportunity (usually after morning Mass…I go every weekday).
