May 8th 2025: Cardinal Robert Prevost has been elected Roman Pontiff, and so is the current valid Pope. This is very surprising to me. He has chosen the name Pope Leo XIV (14th). His predecessor, Leo XIII, taught at length on the supreme authority of the Roman Pontiff, as in the document Satis Cognitum.

They are saying that he celebrated the traditional Latin Mass with the indult. He appears traditional, speaks Latin well, and it is making me wonder if he is going to be the Angelic Pastor.
Today is also the Feast day of of our Lady of Pompeii and it is the feast of Saint Micheal the Archangel’s apparition and Pope Leo the Xlll composed the St. Micheal the Archangel prayer!!🙏❤️.
considering he is 69 years old, he must be fulfilling prophecy in some regard. He will likely be Pope for the next 10-15 years.
Perhaps not the Pope that Pope Pius saw in a vision, but surely he is key in the imminent timing of future events. If I recall, there was one prophecy that Rome will be attacked and the Pope will flee to the United States. That makes sense now… (correct me if I am wrong)
He is the best choice, given everything. Although all news call him the “American pope” and in fact he is, he is also a Peruvian naturalized citizen. But above all, he is now the Vicar of Christ, the successor of Peter, the Holy Father of 1.4 billion Catholics regardless of nationality or race. He is also the sovereign monarch of Vatican who in history crowned kings. It would be a mistake to connect him only with USA, although for obvious reasons he will remain as the “first American pope in history”.
Much more important than his nationality, or even than his previous statements some of which critical, is what he is going to do NOW as being the Pontiff. A close watch in the next days. Pope Francis had live streamed meetings with cardinals and bishops.
Also the name Leo XIV speaks volumes.
May Our Lady be next to him as he prayed to her in his first appearance.
I am probably mistaken, but is today a feast day for St. Peter of Tarantaise?
CNA says
St. Peter of Tarantaise, bishop
Feast day: May 08
and interestingly enough, peter of tarantaise died on september 14th, which happens to be the birthday of the new pope.
i find this somewhat interesting since one of the last popes mentioned in st malachys prophecy mentioned peter the roman – – again im not sure of his feast day being may 8th, but he definitely passed away on september 14th
Congratulations to our new Pope, Leo XIV.
These are my first impressions based on the way he appeared on the balcony, compared with Pope Francis, of dear memory:
Pope Leo’s vestments were more traditional. He prepared and read his speech (not much off-the-cuff dialogue). However, he also mentioned Pope Francis twice and seemed very close to him.
Therefore, I suspect that he is going to continue in Pope Francis’ line, but he will be more direct and place greater emphasis on his authority (the Pope’s authority). He may not have much patience for the schismatics and heretics who maliciously attacked Pope Francis. In any case, this Pope is who the Holy Spirit wants for our times.
God bless.
I hope he will go in discontinuity with Pope Francis. We see some signal. Pope Francis was appreciated by heretics, sodomites, communists. Let’s hope we have now a more traditional Pope. The chosen name is a good beginning.
Why are you very surprised, Ron?
An American Pope seemed unlikely, as the choice might associate the Church with controversies in American politics. But the Cardinals have made their choice, which is the choice of the Holy Spirit.
