I think the next Pope will be a conservative who takes the name “Pope Pius XIII”.
If so, this may indicate an imminent fulfillment of the prophecy of Pope Saint Pius X, who saw a vision of a successor of his, of the same name (i.e. Pius), fleeing Rome over the dead bodies of members of the clergy. All this is linked to a time of trials and tribulation for the Church and the world (but not yet the end of days).
Pope Saint Pius X: “I have seen one of my successors, of the same name, who was fleeing over the bodies of his brethren. He will take refuge in some hiding place; but after a brief respite, he will die a cruel death. Respect for God has disappeared from human hearts. They wish to efface even God’s memory. This perversity is nothing less than the beginning of the last days of the world.”

I agree maybe my speculation of the Great warning now is wrong. Still, we can see a culmination of several separate events, such as India – Pakistan war; the contested election of a new German chancellor Merz, a Catholic who failed the first vote and needed the support of the left with a broad consensus against AfD (and that remembers me of Konrad Adenauer at the time of the Vatican II); Israeli renewed offensive in Gaza where tens of thousands already died that drew condemnation from all the world including pope Francis.
The new pope doesn’t come in a vacuum. The cardinals have these news before they enter in seclusion. As cardinal Dolan said today, he doesn’t see a division, he sees a great diversity. So we may expect Everything. I’m thinking of cardinals who are not in the spotlight, or even those holy men who are off the list. I can’t see a cardinal who openly opposed pope Francis to be elected in the current composition of the college. And again, if there is a division, if neither of the frontrunners gets close to 89 (or blocked by 45 opposing votes), then the cardinals start looking for others. As it was with Bergoglio in 2013 who wasn’t a frontrunner candidate. Or who could ever expect in 1978 that cardinal Wojtyla from the Communist block Poland would become the pope who tore down the Communism and shaped the Church in the nearly longest pontificate? It is hard to make parallels with 47 years ago, but still. We need that surprise of the Holy Spirit that will change the world once more. I pray the cardinals not only open to His influence but that they pray and want He Himself to open their minds and hearts more than their human limitations could do.
It now appears there will be a church schism. During my lifetime, I have never seen such open and reported hostilities among cardinals and bishops as we have today.
There is a possibility that the Holy Spirit will not enlighten the cardinals to elect a pope causing the prophecies to be fulfilled for a greater purpose than we can understand.
Whatever the outcome, it now appears the church and the world will enter a period of chaos never seen before. The first part of the Tribulation is at hand. The term of WW2 was not declared until 1941 when all the historians have said it started in 1939. I believe it is the same for the Tribulation.
As I listen all those comments on youtube of “reasonable objective devote Catholics” including EWTN itself, who demand nothing less than a traditional conservative pope to return the things back decades if not centuries, yes I can imagine we are close to a schism. These individuals and groups who spared no critics towards pope Francis on each of his words and actions (including kissing of feet, visiting migrants, giving his popemobile to Gaza – issues that could be sidelined to keep the fire on the big ones). Until the very last moment T.M. and others kept promoting their candidates as if we are in a US election where the campaigning lasts till the end for every single vote. As if the cardinal electors will watch them moments before they surrender their phones and will change their views. Another less popular youtube pundit M. who pretends for a “reason” and at least theoretically assumed the electors votes are not there for a traditional pope, allowed ridicule for the future pope’s name in the live chat to go for hours as we expected the first smoke, with names including “pope America, pope Trump, or even more absurd suggestions. A true Catholic wouldn’t allow that, regardless if he is traditional or progressive.
It is crazy to what lows reach not only those Youtube stars but also the “devote traditionalists” who watch them and who base their theological knowledge on them. Is THAT the kind of people who attend the Latin masses? How at once these same people will turn around and will embrace a liberal pope? Rather they will start their criticism and even rejection of the election results (as if a political party) right after that night he is elected. Mark my words! The question of the formalization of schism of course will come not from them but from the disappointed top cardinals when they exit the conclave. And then the Latin mass communities will turn as one against the elected pope, should he be anyone more liberal than card. Pizzaballa.
I sincerely hope I and you are just not right! And that we will have a good pope according to God’s Heart, whatever that means.
P.S. When I said EWTN I meant not the entire EWTN but certain individual priest who yesterday in live stream demanded the future pope to cancel decisions by pope Francis, who accused pope Francis of abandoning the Catholic teaching. Pope Francis is now a part of the Catholic heritage, and a catholic priest must acknowledge that and humbly submit to whatever decision the next pope will take, without pre-demonizing the late pope.
I sincerely hope that EWTN will accept whoever is being elected pope as canonically elected successor of Peter.
And will not fuel a potential schism should such ever rises. EWTN is not a self-styled traditional youtuber. Being the biggest religious network in the world, EWTN has much greater responsibilities.
Pope Francis exercised heroic patience with rebels in the hierarchy that our next pope may not. I think that there’s a good chance that the new pope, whom I believe will be center-right, will engage in a robust assertion of papal primacy right at the start of his pontificate, and issue a sharp preemptive rebuke to any rebellious prelates who seek to disrupt ecclesial unity. He will make clear that rebellion against the pope is rebellion against the Catholic faith, and that openness to theological diversity is not an invitation to rebellion and theological license. That should be enough to ensure that a sizable schism does not take place.
Great Warning and Miracle right after the election? A great event in the Church – a new ecumenical council invoked, a new dogma, a fresh consecration of Russia that finally gives the promised result?
Ron, I will share in your past prediction of Great Warning, knowing well it may just not happen now, because it is in God’s timing not ours. But what matters? After this coming Thursday or Friday we will have a new Holy Father, and a new era in the Church will start anyway. Now is the time we prepare. I feel as if the time is slowing down almost to the stopping point.
We know that the Great Miracle will occur on a Thursday between the 8th and 16th of March, April, or May, on the feast day of a young martyr of the Eucharist, and not on a holy day of obligation. This year remains only May 15 – it is the feast of St. Dymphna, a youthful virgin martyr.
Before the Miracle, comes the Great Warning, in the week of the conclave. What if this unfolds right after the election of a new pope — perhaps a humble soul outside the corridors of power, a man of silence, simplicity, and sincere faith?
May 8 could see a new shepherd arise, one who makes the Consecration to the Immaculate Heart, calling humanity back to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
May 9 – the Warning, a global illumination of conscience. A moment when every person on Earth will see the state of his soul in the light of Divine truth. A mercy to prepare us for what follows.
May 15 – the Miracle. And beyond that: the beginning of a spiritual rebirth. A Church renewed not through power reform, but through purity of heart, humility, and the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
I don’t agree with your speculations.
I thought that was Pope Pius XII that had visions.
This particular vision was Pius X.
I am astonished where social media is ablaze with stories and predictions of a church schism should the wrong cardinal be elected as the next pope. The Pontiff will never go against the Magisterium and Scriptures. The foundations of Love and Mercy will always be present.
Should a schism arise, it will not be the fault of the pope but a block of individuals whom have lost their way believing in the tenets of Jesus Christ.
We might be in a long wait for the next pope to be elected. If so, maybe the Holy Spirit will intervene as previously with Pope Gregory X.
The most probable situation causing a church schism will be the destruction of the Vatican along with Rome. The chaos pursuing such an event would indeed be troublesome. I don’t believe it would last a long duration of time due to the arrival of the Angelic Shepherd and the Great Catholic Monarch.
We can’t wait Another 15 years for the Angelic pope. John Paul II envisioned the next pope to be the reformer that he couldn’t be. Now is to be elected the next after the next after the next…Enough is Enough! The cardinals can’t let this conclave pass as usual. For many of them it will be their last conclave. We don’t know how or IF we survive the next 15 years.
We need the Angelic pope elected Now. We need the Fatima promises fulfilled Now. We need the new full Consecration of Russia (only of Russia, not Ukraine) to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Now.
We expect that outpouring of the Holy Spirit since John Paul II in the year 2000, AS WE WERE TOLD SOLEMNLY AND REPEATEDLY BY THE MAN OF GOD WHO IS NOW A CANONIZED SAINT. 25 years have passed with 2 more popes on both sides of the spectrum, promises, good homilies, expectations, and Nothing, no, even the situation became Worse.
There is precedent: Celestine V, Gregory the Great, even Peter himself, called from the fishing boat. The Lord does not consult resumes. He calls hearts.
Let such a man be brought into the circle. Let the Church breathe again through someone unbound by the past, unburdened by factions, yet rooted in the Gospel and aflame with love. Not to destroy, but to heal. To gather, not scatter. In such a pope, reform would not be forced – it would flower. Mercy would not be debated – it would be lived. The Church would not split – it would awaken. Let the world be surprised again by a choice no one expected – yet one everyone will recognize as chosen not by men alone, but by God.
I believe the sacred college has that capability of spirit and reason to make the promises of the past century by both apparitions and holy popes come true next week. Nobody of us wants the chastisement first with millions souls gone. Nobody wants to be responsible for that before God.
I will be surprised if our next pope takes the name of Pius, John, Benedict, or Francis, but not if he’s a Leo, Paul, or John Paul.
If we assume that the Chastisement is soon, it is logical to expect the words of St Pius X fulfilled now. And it doesn’t mean automatically electing cardinal Sarah as Pius XIII, it could be any cardinal or non cardinal chosen by God and willing to fulfill the prophecy (the free will counts). But that also means, not only the future pope will be martyred, but also a great part of humanity. And that is a perspective many people don’t even want to think about. Yesterday on a queue as we heard the news of the wide European blackout, I started advising people on basic prep things only to hear: “stop making panic”. If you are right, it will mean we are heading to a cataclysm of any form or likely combination of them. And that a heavenly protection should be given as well, that we should also accept. The pope will be martyred but we don’t want the Church to die with him too, rather to continue, according to the promise of Jesus until the end of times. I don’t accept those interpretations that the Church must die first too. Jesus didn’t say that.
I wonder are the conservatives ready for a compromise figure or they just raise “do or die” flag expecting all the others to bow down or else. If it is so as it seems from card. Muller’s ABSURD words for a shepherd and a bishop (and I can’t stress that enough because the same words could be said by the majority But they were Not), then it is strange to assume that God chose the ultraconservatives and only them for carrying His will. I’d rather bet on God’s will interpretation by a much a calmer reasonable figure who will seek God’s will and also God’s peace and mercy. As St Faustina wrote in paragraph 83, Jesus says, “Write this: before I come as the Just Judge, I am coming first as the King of Mercy.” Cardinal Muller’s words raise the prospect of once appeased more demands to come, a modern inquisition that may not burn but that will expel multitudes of people from Church. Many Millions if not a Billion. That cannot be God’s mercy shown by a true shepherd. It is a shame for the man who was a chief of CDF/DDF during two very different popes. I hope, whoever is elected even if he is cardinal Sarah, such a language never to be repeated. For the sake of the people he will be called to lead to Divine Mercy and Salvation.
Ron, I appreciate your deep knowledge of prophecy, and frankly I expect what you predicted in other posts (Great Warning etc). However, a Pius XIII (in terms of policy not the name) would see a Western schism much bigger than the Reformation, massive in Europe, big enough in US. Why? Because the majority of Catholics expressed undoubtedly their support for a liberal line including in multiple national referendums, including in attending the novus ordo masses much more than the Latin masses, the outpouring of crowds around pope Francis’ death. Majority of bishops voted for it on the synods, actually small changes but still changes. IDK the exact percentage. Maybe whole Africa stays with a conservative pope, because well their countries are as much conservative if not more than cardinal Sarah himself. So why would the majority cardinals who share Francis’ views just grant the papacy to a minority candidate and in the process lose their own flock en masse? Because they want the conservative African interpretation of the Gospel over the multiple European schools of thought? One of such schools is Ratzinger’s. The next pope if not Francis II will be Benedict XVII in terms of policy, and even that would strain too much the base of the liberal camp. Maybe cardinal Turkson is that figure, IDK. Being both African and open minded. Even if the traditional Catholics don’t really care or even to some degree Want Germany and the rest of West Europe to separate from a such conservative vision of a sterile Church of righteous ones, surely the cardinals do care. I don’t see it happening unless St Peter personally descends from heaven to appoint the new pope, as one prophecy said.
Cardinals must look outside their inner circle. The fight between 5-6 top cardinals as we see in movies and historical books, while appropriate in past centuries reflecting the spirit of the monarchies, today is just Absurd when people have live feed and most importantly their free will opinion and action. Or either way schism liberal or conservative will be disastrous. 1.4 billion people who are tired of bureaucracy and want to see a better church (as I deepened in previous posts not to repeat it).
There are thousands of videos on YouTube and Facebook of African cardinal electors who live in Africa, as well as other Catholic bishops who live in Africa, celebrating Mass. Those videos provide clear evidence that African doctrinal conservatism on the continent in 2025 is not Tridentine restorationism. It is the conservativism of Pope St. Paul VI, a conservatism completely in line with Vatican II.
Mr Conte, regarding the Prophecy of Saint Pius X, could be another interpretation? Like that the name of that future Pope would be Giuseppe (Joseph) or Melchiorre (Melchior), refering to Pius X but in relation with his birth name?
Regards
Sincerely
Mr Aguilar.
Prophecies can be difficult to interpret. I think Pius X was referring to a future Pope named Pius, but other interpretations are possible.
