Lent, Fasting, Prayer

The Gospel of Matthew
{6:16} And when you fast, do not choose to become gloomy, like the hypocrites. For they alter their faces, so that their fasting may be apparent to men. Amen I say to you, that they have received their reward.
{6:17} But as for you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,
{6:18} so that your fasting will not be apparent to men, but to your Father, who is in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will repay you.
{6:19} Do not choose to store up for yourselves treasures on earth: where rust and moth consume, and where thieves break in and steal.
{6:20} Instead, store up for yourselves treasures in heaven: where neither rust nor moth consumes, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
{6:21} For where your treasure is, there also is your heart.

I encourage everyone to pray more during this Lenten season, to do a thorough examination of conscience, then receive the Sacrament of Forgiveness, and to make a sincere attempt to better yourself spiritually.

I have struggled with lust. Past several months have been bad. Went to confession several times but then it returns. I am embarrassed that during this Lenten season the struggle with lust has intensified. AI is a game changer and using it has made it even worse. I go through mixed emotions guilt, I don’t care, crying, or anxiety. Today is March 17. Today is the day I end these intrusive thoughts. Pray for me St Patrick!

When you are striving against any sin, the culpability is reduced. Pray, practice self-denial, and do not worry. God is forgiving by His very nature.

much appreciated Ron for the extra encouragement. Definitely much needed for any of us imbued with the materialistic, hedonistic lifestyle prevalent in every facet of our society!
