With regard to Ggr’s question, this website lists approved Marian apparitions by the Vatican and individual bishops: https://www.miraclehunter.com/marian_apparitions/ It might need to be updated in light of some recent DDF rulings.
Hi Ron,
there was some movement from the Vatican per the site below about Medjugorje. Perhaps you have some insight as to what positive impact such Eclecial “note” may have down the road?
https://www.vaticannews.va/en/vatican-city/news/2024-09/pope-francis-ddf-note-nulla-osta-approval-medjugorje-devotion.html
“The Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, with the assent of Pope Francis, grants approval for devotion linked to Medjugorje, recognizing the abundant spiritual fruits received at the Sanctuary of the Queen of Peace without making a declaration on the supernatural character of the Marian apparitions.” — Vatican news
I’m not sure if this kind of middle position is useful to the faithful. It will tend to work out in practice as if it were full approval. If there’s no declaration of supernatural character, then the faithful should be more cautious. I personally believe in Medjugorje, but it is still not approved by the Church.
Ron,
I think events foretold in Garabadal will begin next year in 2025. The Year of Jubilee. What are your thoughts that events will begin next year?
At this point, I don’t know what the year will be for the Warning, Consolation, and Miracle. Next year is possible.
2025 is an important year for the church. Easter is on the 20th of april for the Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church! It’is also a Jubilee Year and marks the 1700th anniversary of the ecumenical First Council of Nicea in 325. Back then, the date of Easter was also on the agenda.
Can you pray to another person’s guardian angel? Like to ask a friend’s guardian angel to protect her?s
I suppose you could do that. But guardian angels are sinless and constantly behold the face of God. So you don’t really need to pray for them to do their job.
You can ask your own guardian angel to contact your friend’s guardian angel for extra protection
You can do that. You can also directly ask your friend’s guardian angel. But remember that all grace, providence, and miracles are ultimately from God.
Why are girl acolytes allowed if previous Popes banned women at the altar?
because it is a matter of changeable discipline, not dogma. It may be more or less prudent, in various circumstances, but it is not contrary to Catholic teaching, as women priests are.
Hi Ron, recently I saw this video on YouTube about the antichrist:
It does have some similarities to your vision but I’ve also questions, f.i. rapture (?)
What do you think?
To clarify, I’ve never received visions or private revelation. That speaker in the video is a Protestant and apparently a fundamentalist. I dispute his interpretation of the Bible on the Antichrist. Catholics should listen to Tradition, Scripture, Magisterium first and foremost, and then perhaps also to Catholic theological opinion.
Mr Conte , from Marcus gospel: “If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.” nevertheless in the part when Jesus is arrested, the gospel from John states this: “If I have spoken wrongly,” Jesus answered him, “give evidence about the wrong; but if rightly, why do you hit Me?” So, can you please explained why Jesus originally said that that you should put the other cheek, but later he makes a complaint (fair indeed) instead of put the other cheek?. That always has confused me.
Best regards
Turn the other cheek means you do not repay harm for harm. When Jesus corrected the guard who struck Him, He was teaching and correcting, which is a spiritual work of mercy. And He tolerated other harm during His Passion. So He certainly lived “turn the other cheek” fully.
Do the Pope’s homilies/daily Catecheses have any magisterial weight? Because in a way he is teaching in them.
It probably varies. Pope John 22nd taught an error (on when the Beatific Vision is received) in some of his homilies. When challenged on that point, he made it clear he was expressing a theological opinion, after Augustine, and not teaching from the Magisterium. But any Pope can teach under the Magisterium in a homily or general audience, if he wishes. I would suppose such a teaching would be clearly stated as a Church teaching, and not merely a homily. In general, I think homilies are not acts of the Magisterium.
Are you aware of a web page where one can find a list of the Marian apparitions that were just reviewed by the Vatican, showing which ones were approved and which were condemned? … and which ones may still be in line to be reviewed?
I don’t know.
I wish Pope Francis would curtail his opinions on politics within the USA. I know he has the right to express his own personal opinions, but the lines get blurred within the Catholic teaching. His recent remarks of the two candidates running for presidency calling them “both are against life, be it the one who kicks out migrants or the one who supports killing babies” are misleading. He offers both as a grave sin. He offers no opinion on which grave sin is greater and he has not offered any concrete steps to be taken on migration. I do not know his thoughts but if you are going to espouse on migration, I would hope he has the knowledge in expressing oneself. Back in 2016, the pontiff declared then that anyone who builds a wall to keep out migrants “is not Christian.” Again, what can we derive on this statement? Can anyone enter a country without credentials and vetting? I do not think his intentions are misguided but if one is to offer an opinion, it should be followed up by reasoning. Pope Francis said migration is a right described in scripture, and that anyone who doesn’t follow the biblical call to welcome the stranger is committing a “grave sin.” Does this mean millions of migrants? This is where the lines get blurred with Catholic teaching and the pontiff needs to clearly say the reasons of why.
