Archbishop Carlo M. Vigano is forcing the Pope’s hand, setting the stage for a possible excommunication and laicization of Vigano by the Pope.

As an article with text from a sermon, both by Vigano, has announced [LifeSiteNews on 8 Dec 2023], archbishop Carlo M. Vigano has decided to establish a “College of Tradition”, which clearly is intended to become a Seminary that will ordain priests apart from, and in open opposition to, the authority of the Roman Pontiff, Pope Francis, and the body of Bishops united to him. Vigano is openly saying that these seminarians and future priests must oppose “the errors of Vatican II” and also “the deviations of Bergoglio” [i.e. Pope Francis].

Vigano: “to undertake the establishment of the Collegium Traditionis, the house of clerical formation that will welcome young traditional vocations and accompany them with discernment toward the Priesthood”

“The Collegium Traditionis will be the first and only traditional Italian reality destined for a seminary, equipping itself with teachers and spiritual guides of sure orthodoxy and solid spirituality, under my supervision.”

“will simply be adapted to the new destination of the properties and buildings: no longer a cenobium for nuns, but a Seminary and a place of retreat for those who feel called to the service of God.”

“this ambitious project … will serve Italy first and foremost, indeed the Italian people, given the total absence of a traditional seminary in this region.”

“But in order for this to be possible, good and holy priests are needed who are not subjected to the blackmail of having to accept the errors of Vatican II or the deviations of Bergoglio in order to exercise their ministry.”

The claim is that these candidates for the priesthood will be given formation at the “College” and that the location will also be used as a Seminary.

The location of this schismatic seminary is in the City of Pienza, in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Montepulciano–Chiusi–Pienza. The local ordinary there is an archbishop elevated to the Cardinalate by Pope Francis in 2020: Cardinal Augusto Paolo Lojudice. A schismatic seminary, overseen by heretical and schismatic archbishop Vigano, cannot be ignored by the Apostolic See. Vigano is essentially forcing Pope Francis to excommunicate him and anyone ordained by him, and they may all face possible laicization.

Candidates for the priesthood formed under Vigano’s supervision will not be ordained to the priesthood by anyone in communion with the Roman Pontiff Pope Francis and the body of Bishops. A man cannot attend a College that teaches abject severe heresy and schism, under an archbishop who openly condemns the Pope, the body of Bishops, and an Ecumenical Council, and then expect to be in communion with the Catholic Church when he is ordained. Such a priest will have no diocese or parish to accept him. This is a planned ordination into schism.

You can’t show up in the diocese of a Bishop, who is in communion with the Roman Pontiff, and say to him, “Okay, I’ve received formation for the priesthood under the supervision of an archbishop who vehemently hates the Pope and Vatican II, and been ordained by him. Now assign me a parish in your diocese.” All persons guilty of formal schism or formal heresy are automatically excommunicated. You will not be accepted by any diocese which is in communion with Pope Francis. And Vigano is retired; he has no diocese assigned to him; he has no other authority in the Church.

So the end result of this heretical and schismatic “College of Tradition” and Seminary will be that Vigano himself will be ordaining priests, after he himself has ensured that they are formed under his direction as heretics and schismatics. And the Apostolic See cannot ignore such a plan.

Action by the Apostolic See

Let’s say that you are a Bishop or priest, and you cause all kinds of trouble in the Church. Often, the Apostolic See will ignore you. You can rail against the Pope, shout all kinds of grave errors, and maybe the local Bishop will take some action against you. But usually the Holy See will not say or do anything public.

On the other hand, if you really want to get the attention of the Roman Pontiff, and ensure that the Apostolic See will act quickly and harshly, all you have to do is start ordaining men without approval from the See of Peter. By doing so, you would be taking a step toward establishing a separate priesthood and a separate hierarchy from that of the successor of Peter and the successors of the other Apostles. Pope Francis seems to have decided to ignore Vigano for now. But if he goes through with setting up the “College of Tradition”, and begins teaching future priests his heretical and schismatic claims, the Pope is much more likely to take action. Then if he ordains men to the priesthood, action by the Holy See will be prompt and severe.

Carlo M. Vigano is a public obstinate severe schismatic and heretic, who rejects Vatican II, the Church since Vatican II, and who utterly rejects and has severely condemned Pope Francis. Vigano refuses to refer to Pope Francis as “Pope” or “Francis” or “Roman Pontiff” or similar terms. He refers to him only as Bergoglio. Archbishop Vigano has made many public statements, over the course of several years, obstinately persevering in the utter rejection of Vatican II, Pope Francis, and the body of Bishops in communion with the Pope.

Carlo M. Vigano’s repeated expressions of schism and heresy:

Vigano: “it is undeniable that from Vatican II onwards a parallel church was built, superimposed over and diametrically opposed to the true Church of Christ. This parallel church progressively obscured the divine institution founded by Our Lord in order to replace it with a spurious entity, corresponding to the desired universal religion that was first theorized by Masonry.” [1]

Vigano: “The Council was used to legitimize the most aberrant doctrinal deviations, the most daring liturgical innovations, and the most unscrupulous abuses, all while Authority remained silent.” [1]

Vigano also accuses the Church of “the most serious apostasy to which the highest levels of the Hierarchy are exposed, while the Christian people and the clergy feel hopelessly abandoned and that they are regarded by the bishops almost with annoyance.” [1]

Vigano: “It appears that Bergoglio is impudently trying to “raise the stakes” in a crescendo of heretical affirmations, in such a way that it will force the healthy part of the Church — which includes bishops, clergy and faithful — to accuse him of heresy, in order to declare that healthy part of the Church schismatic and ‘the enemy of the pope.’ ” [2]

Vigano: “Jorge Mario Bergoglio is trying to force some cardinals and bishops to separate themselves from communion with him, obtaining as a result not his own deposition for heresy but rather the expulsion of Catholics who want to remain faithful to the perennial Magisterium of the Church. This trap would have the purpose — in the presumed intentions of Bergoglio and his “magic circle” — of consolidating his own power within a Church that would only nominally be “Catholic” but in reality would be heretical and schismatic.” [2]

Vigano: “We painfully acknowledge that, in this epochal clash, he who ought to be guiding the Barque of Peter has chosen to side with the Enemy, in order to sink it.” [2]

Vigano: “The worldly spirit, the enslavement to concupiscence, and – what is even more grave – the refusal to fight against the Evil One have infected a large part of the Hierarchy of the Catholic Church, up to its highest levels, making it the enemy of God, His Law, and our souls. As has happened with civil authority, so also religious authority has abdicated its proper role, disowning the very purpose for which it was willed by Divine Providence. The novelty of this perversion of authority, which heralds the epochal clash of the End Times, lies precisely in the corruption of the Shepherds and in the fact that the individual members of the faithful, as a flock without a leader, find themselves having to heroically resist an assault on the Citadel on several fronts, in which they have been abandoned by their leaders, who are opening the gates and allowing the enemy hordes to enter in order to exterminate us.” [3]

About Fratelli Tutti n. 277, Vigano says: “The reference to the conciliar document Nostra aetate is the confirmation of the ideological link of the Bergoglian heretical thought with the premises earlier set by Vatican II.” [4]

In October 2020, on the 23rd or 24th, Carlo Vigano gave a talk at the Catholic Identity Conference, titled: “Scapegoating Francis: How the Revolution of Vatican II serves the New World Order”. The talk is bizarre and represents a new step in the progression of the heretical and schismatic doctrines that Carlo Vigano disseminates. Here, he begins to talk about the “the Bergoglian anti-church” and the “eclipse of the [true] Church”. He claims that this began with Vatican II, hence the repeated references to 60 years ago. And Vigano claims all this is a preparation for the Antichrist. [5]

Vigano: “For sixty years, we have witnessed the eclipse of the true Church by an anti-church that has progressively appropriated her name, occupied the Roman Curia and her Dicasteries, Dioceses and Parishes, Seminaries and Universities, Convents and Monasteries. The anti-church has usurped her authority, and its ministers wear her sacred garments; it uses her prestige and power to appropriate her treasures, assets, and finances.”[5]

Vigano: “But with the Second Vatican Council, the darkness of this spurious entity came over the Church. Initially it obscured only a small part, but the darkness gradually increased.”[5]

Vigano: “I believe it is now understood beyond all reasonable doubt that the leaders of the present Catholic Hierarchy have placed themselves at the service of the globalist Oligarchy and Freemasonry… The purpose has now been declared: destroying Nations from within by means of the deep state and the Church of Christ by means of the deep church, in order to establish the kingdom of the Antichrist, with the help of the False Prophet.”[6]

Vigano: “In my recent essay for the Catholic Identity Conference in Pittsburgh, I spoke of the eclipse that is obscuring the Church of Christ, superimposing over it an anti-church of heretics, corrupt men and fornicators.” [7]

Vigano: “Thus, just as on Golgotha the Sanhedrin thought that it had defeated Our Lord by having him condemned to death by Pontius Pilate, today the Vatican Sanhedrin believes that it can overthrow the Church by delivering it into the hands of the globalist anti-Christian tyranny.” [7]

Vigano: “I wonder if Bergoglio himself, who was unknown to many people until March 13, 2013, is not being blackmailed by those who benefit with such impunity from his clemency. This would explain the motive that leads the one who sits on the Throne to rage with so much ruthlessness against the Church of Christ, while showing the greatest respect for people who are notoriously corrupt, perverted, and almost always implicated in sexual and financial scandals.” [7]

Carlo M. Vigano is a bishop who has separated himself from the Apostolic College and its head, the successor of Peter. Therefore, Vigano has lost all authority:

Pope Leo XIII: “But since the successor of Peter is one, and those of the Apostles are many, it is necessary to examine into the relations which exist between him and them according to the divine constitution of the Church. Above all things the need of union between the bishops and the successors of Peter is clear and undeniable. This bond once broken, Christians would be separated and scattered, and would in no wise form one body and one flock. “The safety of the Church depends on the dignity of the chief priest, to whom if an extraordinary and supreme power is not given, there are as many schisms to be expected in the Church as there are priests” (S. Hieronymus, Dialog, contra Luciferianos, n. 9). It is necessary, therefore, to bear this in mind, viz., that nothing was conferred on the apostles apart from Peter, but that several things were conferred upon Peter apart from the Apostles. St. John Chrysostom in explaining the words of Christ asks: “Why, passing over the others, does He speak to Peter about these things?” And he replies unhesitatingly and at once, “Because he was pre-eminent among the Apostles, the mouthpiece of the Disciples, and the head of the college” (Hom. lxxxviii. in Joan., n. I). He alone was designated as the foundation of the Church. To him He gave the power of binding and loosing; to him alone was given the power of feeding. On the other hand, whatever authority and office the Apostles received, they received in conjunction with Peter. “If the divine benignity willed anything to be in common between him and the other princes, whatever He did not deny to the others He gave only through him. So that whereas Peter alone received many things, He conferred nothing on any of the rest without Peter participating in it” (S. Leo M. sermo iv., cap. 2).

“15. From this it must be clearly understood that Bishops are deprived of the right and power of ruling, if they deliberately secede from Peter and his successors; because, by this secession, they are separated from the foundation on which the whole edifice must rest. They are therefore outside the edifice itself; and for this very reason they are separated from the fold, whose leader is the Chief Pastor; they are exiled from the Kingdom, the keys of which were given by Christ to Peter alone.” [Satis Cognitum, 14-15]

Archbishop Carlo M. Vigano has been deprived of the right and power of ruling because he has publicly obstinately perseveringly seceded from Peter and his successors. Therefore, he has no authority to establish a Seminary, nor to ordain men to the diaconate, priesthood, or episcopate.
