Building the Third Temple of Jerusalem

One of the predictions from my old eschatology books (many dates from which turned out to be wrong) is that Israel will build a Third Temple of Jerusalem. The Second Temple was that which existed and was in use in the time of Jesus. All that remains of it is the Wailing Wall (and possibly some underground tunnels). In order to build the Temple on the site of the First and Second Temples, Israel would have to remove the Al-Aqsa Mosque. They are very unlikely to take such an action, unless a terrible conflict breaks out between Israel and the Muslim nations.

“The Al-Aqsa Mosque is situated in the Old City of Jerusalem, specifically on the Temple Mount, known as Haram al-Sharif in Arabic, in the eastern part of the city. For Muslims, the mosque holds the status of being the third holiest site in Islam, following Mecca and Medina. The Al-Aqsa Plaza encompasses two revered places: the Dome of the Rock and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Construction of the mosque took place in the 8th century AD. It is believed by Muslims that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) ascended to heaven from this place.” [Source]

Building the Third Temple would require destroying that third holist site in Islam, which would start a war between Israel and Muslim nations. So Israel would not take such action, unless an extensive war were already underway.

ron, this text seems to defend limited biblical inerrancy

    4. “We must also not tolerate the behavior of those who try to escape these difficulties, admitting that divine inspiration is limited to things of faith and customs and nothing else” It is also important to emphasize that what Leo XIII states here in no way contradicts what I developed in my publication, considering that I clearly distinguished between inspiration and inerrancy, especially when quoting the “instrumentum laboris” of the 2008 Synod of Bishops: “[ …] although all parts of Holy Scripture are divinely inspired, inerrancy applies only ‘to that truth which God willed to be placed in the sacred writings for the sake of salvation’ (DV 11)”. Despite all odds, I will side with God’s chosen people Israel. Not because I could ever support a siege of Gaza or any innocent victims from BOTH sides. And it is important to remember that Hamas continues its strikes as violent and indiscriminate with missiles even today, as if HAMAS WANTS THE REACTION OF ISRAEL ON GAZA. As if Hezbollah just awaits the Gaza ground offensive to attack from the North. As if Iran just prays to Allah Israel to continue so Iran’s plans for Middle Eastern dominance to succeed? Why doesn’t Egypt open the borders of Raffa? Egyptian official told the EU: “we can’t accept 1 million people, you took them in Europe.” And if Egypt is poor, Saudi Arabia is not. Why not to make an entire city not tents for all those migrants from Middle Eastern wars, from gaza but also from Syria? No, Saudi and the other super rich kingdoms don’t want the burden refugees. They want to command these refugees for their own ends.

Just look from the Israeli perspective: a small nation with less than 10 million people, with indefensible small territory. What are they supposed to do when against them are a significant part of 2 bln Muslims spread from Morocco to Indonesia who do not harbor the best feelings towards Israel? Not every Muslim is a terrorist of course. But many are, and even more are those who in their everyday life are not terrorists but who want to conquer Israel because of their religion. That is unacceptable from all points of view. If Israel was a little less strong, if it didn’t have those secret nukes, if it showed weakness in the last 70 years, would the surrounding countries have let it exist? Rather not. The peace treaties with Jordan and Egypt were hard won victories. All Arab – Israeli wars were initiated by the Arabs. Including the last one.

We have to keep in mind the final goal of the Jewish people. And that is their acceptance of Jesus Christ to usher His Second Coming. Not someone else. Not modernists. Not traditionalists. But the Jewish nation.

    St Paul said:
Romans 11:24 After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!

That doesn’t mean we should be blindly led into yet another war that could easily cross into nuclear and worldwide. In each war there are two (or more) sides. They both fight and kill, because it is a war yes? They both have motivations. Rules of war apply to everyone including Israel. But at the end of the day, do we want to be ruled by a regime similar to the Iranian? Do we want for example Europe to be overrun by a caliphate? I think the answer is clear.

About the Temple, and the 7 years treaty, I am not that sure that Israel and Palestinians/Arabs will sign it. The real Antichrist might be a completely different person. This is today’s understanding (of mainly protestants) having the problem of two state equation in the Holy Land as a base for their end time scenarios. Only a hundred years ago the situation was completely different with the British occupation, and before that even more different with the Caliphate. Let remember that the Christian countries during the Crusades played their role for almost a century rule in the Holy Land. And before that the Holy Land was a Roman province (of the pagan Rome who served Jupiter etc) during the time of the Apostles. So…what will be tomorrow and how the events around the Temple will unfold? Especially if we are not around anymore, it is hard to say. Or in the post nuclear time. Maybe few of today’s major powers will exist with the same influence. Israel is promised by God to remain until the end. Sorry Arab brothers, but you have to accept the fact of Israeli existence as willed by God, for your own good.

And just came the news of the bombed hospital, with devastating political results just when Biden would convince the Israelis to allow humanitarian aid.
How convenient! What if it is not the Israelis? Here is the immediate result:

Mahmoud Abbas cancels planned meeting with President Biden.
Israel has asked the U.S. for $10B in emergency aid.
Senior Hamas Leader offers to release all civilian hostages if strikes on Gaza cease. (comment: and he knows that just won’t happen as precondition – the whole war started because of Hamas attack and hostages).
EU Chief says attacks on Gaza’s civilian infrastructure are outside ‘International Law’.
Rocket fire aimed at Ben Gurion Airport.
Former Hamas Chief Meshaal calls for immediate protests in front of Israeli embassies.
EU Council President condemns targeting of Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital.
Protests escalating at Israeli embassy in Amman, Jordan; demonstrators attempted to storm the building.

How convenient for those who don’t want that war to end, or to be lessened the human suffering part of it.

I can’t post all updates, this is the first and the last, because of my previous post. Maybe a special section for updates and links from twitter to be opened if needed.

Ron, I wrote the above comment minutes before learning about the hospital. I wouldn’t write it if I knew of the hospital tragedy. The basic things are still there, that one cannot expect Israel not to answer the initial attack of Hamas, that all wars were started by Arabs and so on… But who did the heinous crime? Both sides deny it and blame the other. We don’t have all the details. Israeli detailed video shows it was a rocket from Gaza. I am not a specialist to say, as neither of us is a specialists.

Whoever did the unimaginable atrocity, the human dimension of the tragedy is just too big to be skipped as usual casualties of war that is somehow being normalized and even justified. Not this time. The response of the billions wide Islamic world came instantaneously in the middle of the night. What would compel you to get out of bed in the night to protest in front of an embassy? Millions of people do so as we speak, and not peacefully. The situation is getting out of control. Whoever the real perpetrator is, the chances of peace have been ruined in an instant.

Currently the UN secretary general speaking in Beijing on economic forum, called for immediate humanitarian ceasefire, immediate unrestricted humanitarian aid in Gaza and immediate release of the 199 Israeli hostages by Hamas. Will his voice be heard? Will the pope’s voice be heard? Or both sides want the bigger war soon, where the hospital bombing would be a small event compared to it. Just imagine the devastating effects on the civilian population if a nuclear explosion of only 10 kt occurs in a populated area.

Once it starts going nuclear, there will be no barrier anymore, no going back. By the time the investigation tries to establish who did the first explosion, there would be more events coming from both sides.

Did the Serbian nationalist start WW1 by killing Franz Ferdinand? By the time of the Austrian ultimatum to Serbia with the requirement the Austrian police to get direct access in Serbian investigation (sounds familiar?), the main powers already mobilized their troops. That was especially important for Russia who needed 2 weeks to mobilize its large territory with low level of transport. There was no going back out of fear you will be caught unprepared. Did we just have that starting event, or more is to come for the history books to declare that WW3 started at that time?

The absurd is there are still people who think the house is not burning and the ship is not sinking. I guess they will be martyrs…actually no, when the panic spreads they will be the first ones who will want to take your seat in the rescue boat, whatever that rescue boat is. They are not that much devote or self sacrificing. They want to sacrifice you and me, not themselves. They just love their untroubled affluent everyday life and clothe it with religion to be even more secure. This is not a true devotion for what I understand. You can’t have the world burning, and still to claim everything is ok. Where are the prayers for the Middle East or for Russia’s conversion? Or rather prayers for the 3rd and 5th car and expensive studies of the kids? It is just ridiculous. Sunday mass turns into a spectacle that must be awaited to finish. Such people shouldn’t be called with the name Christian, let alone traditional or liberal Catholics. Where is their faith, where are their deeds of faith? Will they send a check of 50 dollars now? While people are literally dying over there, on both sides. God sees!

Sorry for the third comment in a row (I would have deleted some if I had that option). Once there I had to put explanations. It will become only worse if the current trend towards the precipice continues even only one week more.

      a good video too

although I do not agree with everything those guys have to say, they are remarkably Informed about the real situation, they have their own sources, plus the MSM and Twitter sources combined together.

Israel postponed Gaza attack with several days because of the “weather conditions”, most likely to give a chance to the civilians to flee under enormous international pressure including from UN, EU, and even Biden. However Israel hit Aleppo Syria airport for a second time.
Iranian FM met the leader of Hamas.
Putin called the siege of Gaza similar to the siege of Leningrad (St Petersburg) in WW2. Putin is born in St Petersburg.
The situation is on the brink. It can escalate overnight. Although that was always a possibility, in Ukraine and elsewhere, here you have the main actors openly talking of escalation that will change the Middle East.
Finally the US offers evacuation to US citizens from ISRAEL. Major EU countries are are already doing that. Why from Israel if the conflict is only in Gaza?

We get several more days, and that situation of getting more days/weeks and grace makes many of us slumber and denying the reality. Including people who are highly devote. If we remember one year before the attack on Ukraine Russia was prepared to do it at that time with an army of over 200,000 (some said half a million), and postponed it in the last minute. Many naysayers said then that nothing happened because God is merciful. We who know the prophecies must realize that all of that has already been told by God’s messengers to happen soon. Be also aware that if there is a rapid escalation, very likely cyber attacks will take down or slow significantly internet so we will lose the current nearly instantaneous speed of information.

Whether the Third Temple will be built now or after many years, and whether that will be followed by immediate rise of the antichrist or not, it is hard to guess. The assumption that such immediate development will happen within 3 or 7 years after the Temple is wrong. The history of the Christendom shows otherwise despite the expectation of the Antichrist in each century.

On the other hand, the threats on the world peace with the current Israeli-Palestine crisis that comes atop of the nuclear danger in Ukraine war, cannot be any higher. We all know the possible scenarios: involvement of Hezbollah, Syria and Iran will lead to US bombardment in the region from the prepositioned 2 aircraft carriers, with a third US and a British carrier possibly joining soon. US planes capable of carrying nuclear bombs already landed in Jordan. Involvement of US could lead to a direct war with Iran that by itself would be a major escalation, even without escalation to strategic level. People tend to think in terms of yesterday: US won two Iraqi wars, Libya, Kosovo,…

Here is some wikipedia knowledge: Iran is bigger than France and Germany combined, with a population of 87 million that is bigger than Germany or about 1/4 of the US population, has a mountainous terrain, and produces all major conventional weapons including tanks, drones and missiles. Let alone the spirit of fight the Middle eastern peoples have. It will be the next trap the US will enter into, much bigger than Iraq or Afghanistan.

The chance of Israel to use a nuclear bomb in a dead end situation is high. Israel promised “Never again” and from their perspective it is the right thing to do in such a situation. After the first nuclear explosion regardless of who makes it (it could be Russia in Ukraine or atmospheric test), the world will never be the same. We will have panic buying, stock market crash, shortages on gas, electricity, water, internet cyber attacks.

It is unwise to assume the Middle Eastern crisis happens isolated and not in connection with the ongoing war in Ukraine. If orders are given from one place, if it has been coordinated in so many meetings with Putin. We could expect the flare up of a third and a fourth hot spot in East Asia. Everything is set for a world war. How it will unfold, will it escalate gradually (as it is happening now) or we will have a defining event, including a surprise massive nuclear strike?

Since it has never been done in the recorded history (apart of Hindu and Sumer sagas), it will be the first time for everyone. So it is hard to make exact predictions. It goes off the chart also in the prophecy. It is hard to interpret for example St Hildegard when she talks of a comet striking what is today America. In her time there were comets but there weren’t missiles capable of destroying an entire continent. In that way, many other predictions and prophecies can be reinterpreted. The fire from heaven that many recent seers talk about.

The Apocalypse of John the beloved disciple is written in symbols, the decoding of which has seen many variations in the centuries by great Catholic fathers. Thus the old Caliphate was seen as the Beast of Revelation. Obviously today it is irrelevant, or is it? Today we have Russia and China that weren’t such major forces in the Middle ages. Tomorrow we may have a new force rising.

We must be prepared for a nuclear development in the next days and weeks, possibly months. The Church will undergo a tremendous transformation if that happens, when we will practically survive underground (in terms of bunkers). Just imagine how the Catholic Church will look like in a place like that. Even if only for several years. Covid closure of churches was nothing compared to it. When the nuclear fallout is over and we go out for the Era of peace, everything will be unrecognizable.

  5. James Belcher's avatar James Belcher says:

    Ron,
Depending upon the landscape after the 7th seal, I can easily see the 3rd temple being constructed along side the Mosque. The size of the temple (if need to be small) should not inhibit the construction. If anything, It will show unity and respectfulness between Judaism and Islam.

  6. James F Belcher's avatar James F Belcher says:

    Ron,
I did not say for the Mosque to be torn down but somehow with the construction of the 3 temple sits along side of the Mosque.

  7. James Belcher's avatar James Belcher says:

    Ron,
In all practicality, should the 3rd temple be constructed it appears to me that the time would be after the 1st part of the Tribulation has concluded. The changes of mankind’s heart and mind could be enough where the temple is built along side of Al-Aqsa Mosque with extensive modifications. There needs to be a peaceful and joined effort from Islam and Israel. I can’t think of a better timeframe for this to happen.

    • Ron Conte's avatar Ron Conte says:

The first part of the tribulation ends with peace and holiness. Only three religions survive: Catholic Christianity, Judaism, and moderate peaceful Islam. So that can’t be the time for a major Mosque to be torn down.
