Will it be possible that finally Pope Francis visits Moscow, Russia? According to the Russian news agency TASS, the Pope proposed an encounter with Patriarch Kirill at the Moscow airport, and that the Pope’s plane would stop over in the Moscow airport during his trip to Mongolia, from August 31 to September 4.

    • Ron Conte's avatar Ron Conte says:

Interesting possibility. The Pope’s visit to Moscow is said to precede the Warning and related events. But at this point, I’m just not sure.

  2. Thomas Mazanec's avatar Thomas Mazanec says:

If two gay (or lesbian) people live in exclusive sexual union and help other people as much as they can, do they go to Hell after death?

    • Ron Conte's avatar Ron Conte says:

Each person is judged by their own conscience. If they entered the state of grace at some time, by a baptism of water or desire or blood; and if they either did not sin with the full culpability of actual mortal sin, or repented sufficiently and returned to the state of grace, then they are saved. A person living according to LGBT ideas might have a sincere but mistaken conscience, especially since society so strongly pushes people to believe things contrary to Catholic teaching. So LGBT persons can certainly be saved and go to Heaven, even if they do not change their ways, but still this depends on their conscience, just as for anyone else.

How many other groups of priests have been stripped of their priestly duties?

A Catholic bishop has cautioned the clergy against affiliation with what he called a group “renegade group of priests”.

Bishop Joel Baylon of Legazpi said the “Missionary Society of Saints Peter and Paul” is a group not recognized by the Catholic hierarchy.

He said its members are no longer in the active ministry within the Church, and has no permission from legitimate authority to act in the name and on behalf of the Church.

“Any priest who joins this group automatically incurs suspension from his duties as a priest, and is therefore prohibited from performing any religious act relative to his priestly duties, such as celebrating Mass and administering the Sacraments,” Baylon said in a diocesan circular July 16.

“Any religious activity performed in the name of the Catholic Church by a priest who joins this Society is therefore invalid and illicit,” he said.

Ron – do you know the reason(s) why they have been stripped of their priestly duties?

    • Ron Conte's avatar Ron Conte says:

The Sacraments are not invalid when administered by heretics or schismatics, as long as they meet the usual conditions for validity. I don’t know what the problem is with that society.

  4. James Belcher's avatar James Belcher says:

    Ron and Ben,
    Thank you for your responses.
I for one hope we do not have an Ecumenical Council in the very near future. I am of the belief that a Church Schism could take place thereafter. I think there are too many liberal theologians who would introduce loose verbiage that could further the divide.
Several Archbishops said “Satan has now entered our Church” after Vatican II. I can’t say with 100% accuracy but all institutions have been pervaded with progressives. I am afraid the Church will not be an exception.

    • Ron Conte's avatar Ron Conte says:

The Church is both human and divine, like Christ. And so the Church will always be a Church made up of sinners, shepherds and flock alike. But the Church will also always have Christ as Her eternal head, and the Holy Spirit as Her soul, to keep Her indefectible. Though her leaders can sin and err to some extent, God always keeps the Church indefectible: She can never go astray or lead astray.

  5. James Belcher's avatar James Belcher says:

    Ron,
I must live in another world. I recently became aware that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has initiated a 10-year project to rewrite religious texts, including the Bible. Across Henan province, local CCP officials forced Protestant churches to replace the Ten Commandments with Xi Jinping quotes. I did not find the quotes but I am sure it is contrary to God’s Law.

The Bible’s book of John, chapter eight. In this passage, an adulterous woman is brought to Jesus, and her accusers ask if she should be killed by stoning for her sins.

In every authentically translated version of scripture, Jesus responds, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.” These words disperse the angry crowd, and Jesus tells the woman, “Go, and from now on sin no more” (ESV).

The Chinese Communist Party’s version takes a different turn. In this telling, the crowd leaves, but Jesus tells the woman, “I too am a sinner. But if the law could only be executed by men without blemish, the law would be dead.” Then Jesus proceeds to stone the woman.

I believe there are approximately 100 million Christians in China and I wonder if they
have to follow their faith underground or are forcibly to agree with CCP’s new corrupted texts. Additionally, it is my understanding, CCP officials are carrying out this initiative against other religions as well.

Do you have any updates on the following:

I understand the agreement between the Vatican and Beijing in 2018 gave the officially atheist Chinese government a role in bishop appointments, while China’s burgeoning religious oppression was lesser of two evils. The aim of this deal may be admirable — to unify the Catholic Church in China, long divided between “underground” Catholics loyal to the Holy See and those belonging to the government-approved Chinese Patriotic Catholic Association. Despite the agreement, however, four years later, conditions have not improved for Catholics or any other religious adherents in China.

I don’t know if the agreement between the Vatican and Chinese government can be withdrawn and Pope Francis attempts to insert his own choices for bishops in China.

Has Pope Francis admonished China for its actions on a world stage or has he taken a softer political approach?

    Regards,

    • Ron Conte's avatar Ron Conte says:

I don’t know enough about that situation to comment.

    • Ben's avatar Ben says:

I will try to answer that. China nominates the bishops that the Vatican has to approve. Indeed the Pope has a veto right that if exercised twice for a certain appointment, it could be disregarded further by China (no 3rd veto on a single diocese). I understand the Vatican did everything in its power in the current situation. Let remember from history that the kings in Europe had similar rights to appoint bishops together with Rome. Have you seen the film about St Thomas Beckett? King Henry II nominated him for bishop and Rome agreed.

Ron, disturbing news come from everywhere. Let list them briefly here (dont know where):

      1. The Synod in October with hot topics will be preceded by consistory, the cardinals will reach 137 electors. In theory pope Francis could resign. Pope Benedict resigned during a consistory.

      2. We are at the brink of a major escalation. BRICS will discuss to introduce their gold-backed currency in August. Together with the intensifying war in Ukraine and the uneasy situation in the Koreas/Taiwan.

      3. US Senate bipartisan initiative of a new bill called ” Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) Disclosure Act of 2023 “, and the Congressional Oversight Commission’s hearing on July 26th of David Grusch and two other first hand witnesses of UAP.

How that all will reflect on the growing rift with the traditionalists, and in all within the Catholic Church? Do you see any breakthrough development, be it in the Synod or otherwise? Can you foresee some development based on prophecies or Church fathers?

    • Ron Conte's avatar Ron Conte says:

I think it will take a future Ecumenical Council to settle the disputes with the traditionalist Catholics. I also think that all Christians will be united in one Catholic Church worldwide within the lifetime of adults alive today.

  6. Vít Lacman's avatar Vít Lacman says:

Does full knowledge, necessary for mortal sin, imply the knowledge that act is gravely sinful? It seems absurd to me that God would damn a person for a mortal sin, that he thought was only venial.

Did God create the world and the universe just for humans to inhabit or did he created it for its own sake?
    Thank You for Your answers.

    • Ron Conte's avatar Ron Conte says:

Full knowledge must include the knowledge or belief that the act is gravely immoral.
God created the universe (Creation) because it is good, is a reflection of His goodness, and for the sake of the human persons and angels who were created in God’s image.

    • Vít Lacman's avatar Vít Lacman says:

      Thank You very much.

  7. Ben's avatar Ben says:

Is it possible following fake apparitions (either deluded or more likely from the devil) to lead to an increased burden and suffering, falsely named as “a cross from God for the salvation of the sinners”? Which apparition to name that is condemned, I think in Ohio there is one H.L. It threatened those of its followers who stop following it, that the flames of hell already licked their feet…Or one “apparition” in India where the fake O.L. said that she rejoiced in the suffering of the children. Could such satanic manifestations bring real suffering to those devote but ignorant people who follow it? And could that be further translated to less suspicious fake apparitions that we wonder about are they true or not? And even to priests and bishops who have strange teachings in the name of strict morality to disobey and rebel against the Church and the pope? And even another step, could that all bring a satanic possession to those deluded faithful who follow them?

    • Ron Conte's avatar Ron Conte says:

False private revelations can bring suffering to the false visionaries and to their adherents. God has mercy on them, even so, and does not permit possession or other very grave harm (except perhaps in rare cases). But following the messages of a false visionary can lead one away from the Pope, the Bishops, and the Church as a whole.

  8. Ben's avatar Ben says:

Do certain people become so evil, that they surpass in malice the demons, while still living this mortal life in their bodies? Will there be souls condemned in hell to bigger punishment than the demons? Is it possible such people to be also in the Church? Antichrist will be a human too. Antichrist will be apostate, yes?
Which prayer can be said when someone is hurt by attacks of evil people?

    • Ron Conte's avatar Ron Conte says:

The Antichrist could be more wicked than some of the fallen angels, but not more wicked than Satan. I suppose some humans might suffer more in Hell than some of the fallen angels (devils). But in general, it seems that most devils will suffer more than most human souls in Hell. God does not permit the devils or wicked humans to harm the Church beyond a certain point. See the Book of Job, where the harm that Satan is permitted to do to Job (a figure of the Church) is limited by God.

I think the Antichrist will be a baptized Christian, who apostatizes, which is more wicked than if he were never a Christian. The Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet are good prayers for many purposes. One can also appeal to Saint Joseph, Patron Saint of the Church and head of the holy Family.

  9. Ron, Pope Benedict XVI said the following in the book-interview “light of the world” :

Question: Is the Pope really “infallible” in the sense that the media sometimes uses that term? An absolute ruler whose thought and will are law?

This is incorrect. The concept of infallibility has developed over the centuries. It arose in view of the question whether there is somewhere an ultimate authority that decides. The first Vatican Council, following a long tradition since the time of the early Christian community, has finally determined that there is a final decision! Not everything is left open! Under certain circumstances and under certain conditions, the Pope can make final decisions that are binding, decisions that clarify what the faith of the Church is and what it is not. This does not mean that the Pope can constantly issue “infallible” pronouncements. Generally, the Bishop of Rome acts like any other bishop who professes his faith, who proclaims it, who is faithful in the Church. Only when certain conditions are present, when tradition has been clarified and he knows he is not acting arbitrarily, can the Pope say: this is the faith of the Church – and denying it is not the faith of the Church. In this sense, the First Vatican Council defined the ability to make a final decision, so that the faith can maintain its binding authority.

The Petrine office, as you have just explained, guarantees agreement with the truth and authentic tradition. Communion with the Pope, then, is a prerequisite for right belief and freedom. Saint Augustine used to say: where Peter is, there is the Church and also God. But this maxim originated in another age; should no longer be valid today.

The saying was not actually formulated by Augustine in this way either, but for our present purposes we can leave it open. In any case, it is an old axiom of the Catholic Church: where Peter is, there is the Church. Needless to say, Papapapo may have private opinions that are wrong. But when he speaks, as we have already said, as the supreme pastor of the Church, fully aware of his responsibility, then he no longer says something that is personally his, whatever happens to him. So, aware of this great responsibility and at the same time of the Lord’s protection, he knows that he is not leading the Church astray in such a decision, but, on the contrary, he is guaranteeing its unity with the past, the present and the future, and above all with the Lord. That’s what it’s about, and that’s also what other Christian communities feel.”

A traditionalist used this with the aim of refuting the dogma that a Pope cannot be a heretic, how to respond?

    • Ron Conte's avatar Ron Conte says:

The response, I think, is to assert that when the Pope is not exercising infallibility, the dogma of indefectibility and the charism of truth and never failing faith still protects the exercise of the Keys of Peter over doctrine and discipline by the Pope from grave error (though not from all error). So the Pope cannot teach heresy, as this is contrary to indefectibility and the charism of truth, and the Pope cannot be a heretic, even privately, as he has the charism of never failing faith.

  10. Iran is at Breakout Point now.
The Ukrainian War will continue ad perpetuam.
What is the link to the ten secrets of Medjugorie?

    • Ron Conte's avatar Ron Conte says:

I’m not sure how all this connects. It could be a lead up to World War III, which might relate to the horrors predicted in some of the secrets of Medjugorje.
