The Warning Second Coming: eschatological errors

There are many errors on the topic of eschatology (the study of the end times) in the messages of claimed visionary “Maria Divine Mercy”. This post reviews the errors found in the message titled The beast with the ten horns is the European Union. The very title of the message contradicts the words of Sacred Scripture on the beast with the ten horns. It also contradicts the teaching of the Blessed Virgin Mary at La Salette.

The visionary who calls herself “Maria Divine Mercy” is anonymous. The visionaries of La Salette were not anonymous. The Church has not approved of the claimed private revelations called The Warning Second Coming. But the Church has approved of the private revelations at La Salette. So when the messages of “Maria Divine Mercy” contradict the words of the Blessed Virgin Mary at La Salette, why do you believe the anonymous visionary and not the Virgin Mary? Why do you believe an anonymous visionary and not the Church, which has decided that the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared at La Salette?

The above cited message of “Maria Divine Mercy” claims that:

“The beast with the ten horns is the European Union, My daughter, referred to as Babylon in the Book of Revelation. Babylon will fall and be dominated by the big Red Dragon, China and its ally the Bear, Russia.” February 19th, 2012

There are several eschatological errors in the above quote. Consider what the Blessed Virgin Mary said at La Salette:

“there will be wars until the last war, which will then be made by the ten kings of the antichrist, which kings will have all one same design and will be the only ones who will rule the world.” (Melanie’s secret, n. 23.)

The Blessed Virgin Mary tells us that these ten kings of the antichrist “will be the only ones who will rule the world”. The whole world will, in that future time, be ruled by ten kings only. These ten kings do not rule only in one area, such as Europe. Sacred Scripture teaches the same eschatological truth:

[Daniel]
{7:7} After this, I watched in the vision of the night, and behold, a fourth beast, terrible yet wondrous, and exceedingly strong; it had great iron teeth, eating yet crushing, and trampling down the remainder with his feet, but it was unlike the other beasts, which I had seen before it, and it had ten horns.
{7:8} I considered the horns, and behold, another little horn rose out of the midst of them. And three of the first horns were rooted out by its presence. And behold, eyes like the eyes of a man were in this horn, and a mouth speaking unnatural things.

{7:23} And thus he said, “The fourth beast will be the fourth kingdom on earth, which will be greater than all the kingdoms, and will devour the whole earth, and will trample and crush it.
{7:24} Moreover, the ten horns of the same kingdom will be ten kings, and another will rise up after them, and he will be mightier than the ones before him, and he will bring down three kings.

The Prophet Daniel sees a vision — Daniel is a true Prophet and a true visionary — and his vision is of four beasts (four kingdoms) that will rise up in the future, one after another. The fourth beast is the fourth of these four future kingdoms. That fourth kingdom “will devour the whole earth”. So again, we see that the kingdom of the ten kings rules the whole world, just as the Blessed Virgin Mary said in the approved private revelations at La Salette.

Who is the little horn that rises up within the kingdom of the ten kings? It is the Antichrist. He is a little horn because at first he has little power. He rises up and replaces one of the ten kings in the kingdom of the ten kings. Then he defeats “three kings” of the ten. The result is that the kingdom of the ten kings becomes the kingdom of the Antichrist, having ten positions of kingship (ten horns) and yet only seven rulers (seven heads) because the Antichrist defeated three of the ten. This results in the beast of ten horns and seven heads, described in the Book of Revelation:

[Revelation]
{12:3} And another sign was seen in heaven. And behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads were seven diadems.

Notice that the kingdom of the Antichrist is also called the “great red dragon”. So the red dragon is not China, as the alleged messages of “Maria Divine Mercy” claim. The red dragon is another name for the kingdom of the Antichrist. So the messages of “Maria Divine Mercy” err by claiming that the European Union is the kingdom of the ten kings, and by claiming that China is the red dragon. But there are still other errors.

In the true visions to Daniel, a true end times prophet, the bear is the second of the four kingdoms that rise up in the future:

{7:2} I saw in my vision at night, and behold, the four winds of the heavens fought upon the great sea.
{7:3} And four great beasts, different from one another, ascended from the sea.

{7:5} And behold, another beast, like a bear, stood to one side, and there were three rows in its mouth and in its teeth, and they spoke to it in this way: “Arise, devour much flesh.”

This verse indicates that, in the future, Russia will rise up to dominate the world. The four beasts that rise up are four successive kingdoms. They do not all rule at the same time. And this is very clear when we consider the fourth kingdom, which rules the whole world; it does not share power with three other beasts (kingdoms). So Russia, in its current state, cannot be the bear — not yet anyway. In the distant future, Russia rises to become the dominant world power, and causes much harm, just as Daniel saw in his vision, just as the messages of Fatima warned. But not at the present time. For Russia, the bear, is the second beast.

The first beast is the kingdom of the great Catholic monarch, who rules AFTER the first part of the tribulation, which ends with the Three Days of Darkness. This point is clear from the secrets of La Salette. A terrible time of suffering, the first part of the tribulation, is described by the Blessed Virgin Mary in the secrets to Melanie, in paragraphs 1 to 20. The 20th paragraph describes the end of the first part of the tribulation, which is the event called the Three Days of Darkness. That event kills a large percentage of the human race worldwide all within three days:

Then Jesus Christ by an act of His justice and of His great mercy for the just, will command to His angels that all His enemies be put to death. All at once the persecutors of the Church of Jesus Christ and all men devoted to sin will perish, and the earth will become like a desert. Then peace, the reconciliation of God with men will be made; Jesus Christ will be served, adored and glorified; charity will flower everywhere. The new kings will be the right arm of the holy Church, which will be strong, humble, pious, poor, zealous and imitator of the virtues of Jesus Christ. The Gospel will be preached everywhere and men will make great progress in the faith, because there will be unity among the workers of Jesus Christ and because men will live in the fear of God.’ (Melanie’s secret, n. 20)

That event has not happened yet. A time of peace then ensues:

21. ‘This peace among men will not be long; 25 years of abundant harvests will make them forget that the sins of men are the cause of all the pains which come upon the earth.’ (Melanie’s secret, n. 21)

That brief time of peace has not happened yet. Next, after the 25 years, sins and sufferings resume. Then, after some length of time, a forerunner of the Antichrist arises and causes much harm.

‘A forerunner of the antichrist with his troops from several nations will fight against the true Christ, the only Savior of the world; he will spill much blood, and will want to annihilate the worship of God in order to make himself be looked upon as a God.’ (Melanie’s secret, n. 22)

And that event also has not happened yet. Next, there is a series of sufferings for the world (“all kinds of plagues”). After that, a time of “false peace” prevails in the world. Then, finally, ten kings rise up to control the whole world:

23. ‘The earth will be struck all kinds of plagues [in addition to pestilence and famine which will be general]; there will be wars until the last war, which will then be made by the ten kings of the antichrist, which kings will have all one same design and will be the only ones who will rule the world. Before these arrive, there will be a type of false peace in the world; one will think only about amusing oneself; the wicked will deliver themselves over to all kinds of sin, but the children of the holy Church, the children of the faith, my true imitators, will grow in the love of God and in the virtues which are dear to me. Happy the humble souls guided by the Holy Spirit! I will fight with them until they arrive at the fullness of the age.’ (Melanie’s secret, n. 23)

All these many events, described by the Blessed Virgin Mary in a Church-approved private revelation, have not happened yet. And so the current time period cannot be the time of the Antichrist, nor the time of the kingdom of the ten kings.

The European Union cannot be the beast with ten horns for several reasons:

1. The EU is not ruled by ten kings; there are 27 member nations, and several more nations that have applied for membership.
2. The EU does not rule the world, as the ten kings will.
3. The kingdom of the ten kings does not arrive until after a series of events, described by the Blessed Virgin Mary at La Salette, events which have not happened yet.
4. Among the events that must precede the arrival of the Antichrist are the Three Days of Darkness and a subsequent 25 years of peace (during which time the great Catholic monarch rules).

But there are still more eschatological errors in the above quoted message of “Maria Divine Mercy”. Here is that message again:

“The beast with the ten horns is the European Union, My daughter, referred to as Babylon in the Book of Revelation. Babylon will fall and be dominated by the big Red Dragon, China and its ally the Bear, Russia.”

The beast with ten horns, in the Book of Daniel and in the Book of Revelation, is the kingdom of the ten kings, which becomes the kingdom of the Antichrist after he defeats three of the ten kings. The term Babylon in Sacred Scripture does not refer to the kingdom of the ten kings, nor to the kingdom of the Antichrist. It refers to an individual city:

[Revelation]
{18:9} And the kings of the earth, who have fornicated with her and lived in luxury, shall weep and mourn for themselves over her, when they see the smoke of her conflagration,
{18:10} standing far away, out of fear of her torments, saying: ‘Woe! Woe! to Babylon, that great city, that strong city. For in one hour, your judgment has arrived.’

The Word of God, that Book of Truth called Sacred Scripture, tells you that Babylon is a city. The messages of an anonymous unapproved visionary tell you that Babylon is not a city, but is the European Union, and that the EU is the beast with ten horns (the kingdom of the ten kings and of the Antichrist). Why do you believe an anonymous visionary, and not the Words of the Holy Spirit in Sacred Scripture? Babylon is a city, not a kingdom. It is not the European Union. And the EU is not the beast with ten horns. The claims of “Maria Divine Mercy” contradict the words of the Blessed Virgin Mary at La Salette and the words of Sacred Scripture.

Which city is called Babylon by Sacred Scripture? It is Rome. At La Salette, Mary said:

‘Rome will lose the faith and become the seat of the antichrist.’ (Melanie’s secret, n. 28)

Babylon is the city of Rome, as a secular city, not as the seat of the Church. In the distant future, the Antichrist uses Rome as his seat of power. This can only occur: AFTER the first part of the tribulation, AFTER the Three Days of Darkness, AFTER the 25 years of peace, AFTER a long time of sinfulness and suffering in the world, when a forerunner of the Antichrist rises to power and falls, AFTER the kingdom of the ten kings is established, and AFTER the Antichrist becomes one of the ten kings, defeats three kings, and takes control the kingdom of the ten kings. Only after all these events does the Antichrist take control of Rome — not control of the indefectible Roman Catholic Church (which will be forced out of Rome). The time of the Antichrist is in the distant future. The present time period, for this generation, is only the first part of the tribulation (which has not yet begun).

That Sacred Scripture uses the term Babylon to refer to Rome is proven by the letter of Saint Peter, the first Pope, who says:

{5:13} The Church which is in Babylon, elect together with you, greets you, as does my son, Mark.

Peter, writing from Rome, refers to Rome as Babylon because the city has long been a sinful place, except for the presence of the Church within the city.

There is still another error in the above quoted message of “Maria Divine Mercy”: “Babylon will fall and be dominated by the big Red Dragon, China and its ally the Bear, Russia.”

If Babylon were the EU, and if the EU were the kingdom of the ten kings, which becomes the kingdom of the Antichrist — all of which is false — but if those assertions were true, it would still not make sense to claim that Babylon (the kingdom of the Antichrist) would fall and be dominated by the red dragon. Sacred Scripture used the term red dragon to refer to the kingdom of the Antichrist. Sacred Scripture also uses the figure of the beast with ten horns to refer to the same kingdom of the Antichrist. So Babylon (if this term referred to the Antichrist’s kingdom) can’t fall and be dominated by the red dragon (the Antichrist’s kingdom). This messages shows a profound lack of understanding of Sacred Scripture by whoever invented the messages of “Maria Divine Mercy”.

Furthermore, the bear (Russia) is the second of the four kingdoms that Daniel saw in his vision. These kingdoms rise and fall in succession. The fourth kingdom is the beast with ten horns. The bear is the second kingdom, which rises and falls before the third kingdom, and long before the fourth kingdom. So Russia and China cannot defeat the kingdom of the Antichrist. The claim is foolish, and has no basis in any sound interpretation of Daniel or Revelation.
