The Tribulation: Second Seal

From my translation (the CPDV) of the Latin Vulgate Bible:

[Revelation 6]
{6:3} And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying: “Draw near and see.”
{6:4} And another horse went forth, which was red. And it was granted to him who was sitting upon it that he would take peace from the earth, and that they would kill one another. And a great sword was given to him.

The first Seal is World War 3. The second Seal is a different type of violence: severe civil disorder. The Book of Zechariah has a similar passage as the Book of Revelation, with horses of the same colors pulling chariots. The white, black, and speckled horses go out to particular regions of the world. But the red horses are the most strong, and they go out to the whole world:

{6:7} Yet those who were the most strong, went out, and sought to go and to roam quickly through all the earth. And he said, “Go, walk throughout the earth.” And they walked throughout the earth.

The severe civil disorder and violence of the second Seal afflicts the whole world, while the violence of the first seal (World War 3) affects primarily the nations involved in the war.

Peace will be taken away from civil society. The War and associated famine (third Seal) will cause great fear. The world economy will be severely disrupted. Unemployment will rise sharply, much higher than it was before the War. Many people will turn to violence: robbery, arson, rioting, murder, and every form of crime will increase sharply.

This severe civil unrest and violence is the second Seal. It begins not long after the War (first Seal) begins, within a year or less.
