My Predictions for 2012 — Revisited

My speculative and fallible predictions for 2012 were posted on this blog on 30 Dec 2011. Here they are again, in the numbered list below. But now I have added some additional comments about each prediction.

1. Iran will support extremists in Iraq, and they will take control of the Iraqi government.

~ I still expect this to happen this year because Scripture, particularly the book of Daniel, indicates that Iran and Iraq will lead the other Arab/Muslim nations against the West:

[Daniel 8]
{8:1} In the third year of the reign of Belshazzar the king, a vision appeared to me. After that which I had seen in the beginning, I, Daniel,
{8:2} saw in my vision, that I was in the capital city of Susa, which is in the region of Elam, yet I saw in the vision that I was over the gate of Ulai.
{8:3} And I lifted up my eyes and saw, and behold, a single ram stood before the marsh, having two high horns, and one was higher than the other and growing higher still.
{8:4} After this, I saw the ram brandishing his horns against the West, and against the North, and against the Meridian, and all the beasts could not withstand him, nor be freed from his hand, and he did according to his own will, and he became great.

{8:19} And he said to me, “I will reveal to you what the future things are in the earlier tribulation, for the time has its end.
{8:20} The ram, which you saw to have horns, is the king of the Medes and Persians.

2. Pope Benedict will die, either before or during his trip abroad.

~ I expect the holy Father to die this year, because, in the timeline of my eschatology, the next Pope takes office in 2012 and dies in 2013.

3. Cardinal Arinze will be elected Pope, and he will take the name Pope Pius XIII.

~ Despite the appointment of a number of new Cardinals, Arinze seems to be the best fit to be the Pope called ‘Peter the Roman’ by St. Malachy.

4. The new Pope will quickly act against heresy and dissent in the Church.

~ Recent events have moved the Church closer to this event. The support for gay marriage continues to spread in secular society, even as the Church continues to speak out against this disorder. The HHS Mandate that would force Catholics to pay for contraception and abortifacients has become a major political issue. The U.S. Bishops have mainly addressed the political dimension of this controversy, but it is inevitable that they will have to address the widespread USE of contraception, and not merely who pays for it.

5. The Occupy Protests will resume, worsen, and spread to more cities.

~ factors that support this predition: it’s an election year, the economy is worsening, the threat from Iran is increasing, and the weather is warming. The protesters often camp-out overnight. Once the cold weather has passed, I think that protests in NYC and other cities will increase.

6. Iran will complete its nuclear weapons program and will build nuclear bombs (but not nuclear missiles).

~ Many persons think that Israel will attack Iran and so prevent them from building a nuke. But now it is clear that the Obama administration is doing all that it can to prevent Israel from attacking. It is becoming more and more likely that Iran will complete a nuclear weapon before Israel or the U.S. undertake a military strike.

7. Iran will make an offer of peace to the U.S. and the West, prior to hostilities, as required by Sharia law.

8. Iran will explode a nuclear bomb in New York City (by summer of 2012).

~ Iran has increased its uranium enrichment program, putting hundreds of new next-gen centrifuges online. It is now apparent that they will be able to build a nuclear bomb by summer of 2012, if they are not attacked by Israel and the U.S.

The remaining predictions will likely follow, if Iran does obtain nukes and use them:

9. World War 3 begins (first horseman of the apocalypse).

10. The general populace in the Arab/Muslim nations of the Middle East and northern Africa will rise up to support Iran in the War, bringing extremists to power in all those nations and forming one group of nations to fight against the West (Daniel 8:3-4; 8:19-20)

11. Severe civil disorder follows, including violent protests, rioting, street crimes, etc. (second horseman of the apocalypse)

12. The economy quickly falls into severe difficulties: the stock market plunges, unemployment increases sharply, there will be runs on banks and supermarkets, food shortages, and (by sometime in 2013) food rationing and outright famine (third horseman of the apocalypse).

13. Death from a variety of causes (fourth horseman of the apocalypse).

A week of events is planned in Ireland in June to close the Eucharistic Congress Year. The final event is a Holy Mass in Croke Park (the national gaelic football stadium). I have tickets for it. It is widely speculated that the Pope is coming to celebrate that mass. If it is God’s will to take him home this year, the selfish side of me hopes it will not be until after June. It is thought that an Irish trip might not be confirmed until after the Cuba and S. America trip. May God bless, protect and save him.

Next Pope takes office in 2012 means last Pope of the St. Malachy list ?.

    • Ron Conte says:

Yes, the next Pope is the last Pope on St. Malachy’s list, the one called Peter the Roman. He is not the last Pope ever, just the last on the list. I believe that he will be Cardinal Arinze, and he will take the name Pope Pius XIII.

Hello – why NYC? What is the support /reasoning for thinking the nuclear bomb will hit precisely – New York City as opposed to elsewhere?
